POSITION SUMMARY

The Annual Fund Manager will retain and grow the number of individuals and corporations who are connected to both Making Waves Foundation and Making Waves Academy while also deepening the connections with existing donors and corporations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Annual Fund Program

  • Works with the Vice President of Development to manage donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual fund donors, including designing materials, crafting messaging, and coordinating mailings.

  • Writes and sends fundraising appeal letters and meaningful acknowledgements.

  • Creates thoughtful and creative stewardship pieces (print and digital) for annual fund donors that incorporate compelling storytelling.

  • Works with the VP of Development to create and implement a digital marketing strategy to acquire new donors and to steward existing donors with innovative content.

  • Works to increase the number of monthly donors through unique marketing, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

  • Conducts gift processing in Salesforce.

Corporate Donations

  • Works with the VP of Development to research and identify new corporate prospects and manage cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

  • Creates corporate volunteer program and facilitates volunteer events.

  • Creates and implements Corporate Sponsorship plan for annual fundraising events, including creating all needed materials and securing solicitations from corporations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years non-profit fundraising experience required

  • Must have directly worked on individual fundraising, including writing appeals

  • Creative writer—ability to craft compelling themes and messages

  • Positive and creative—willing to take risks to try innovative new ideas

  • Ability to work independently and strength in multi-tasking, goal-setting, and workload prioritization

  • Ability to meet deadlines, be detail-oriented, and plan ahead

  • Ability to use print and online tools to communicate with and engage donors and corporate partners

  • Experience with a donor database is required

  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred, but not required
