The Foundation for Endodontics is a charitable organization promoting the advancement of the science of endodontics through grants to education, research and access to care.  The Foundation exists to perpetuate excellence for the dental specialty of endodontics and its practitioners.  We seek to improve oral health by securing contributions, shepherding resources, and sharing grant funds that support research, generate new knowledge, enhance endodontic education and provide access to underserved populations.


The Foundation for Endodontics is the philanthropic arm of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE).  Incorporated in 1966, the Foundation has a solid track record of success achieving its fundraising and other goals. We recently initiated a successful outreach program to provide endodontic care in Jamaica.


We’re making a significant commitment to our future success by growing our dynamic team and are seeking a Major Gifts Managerto join us.  This is a new role that partners and collaborates with our board of trustees, committees, and other employees to first formulate a strategic direction and then develop a sustainable major gifts program to enhance individual philanthropic support. This is an outstanding opportunity to use your experience in major gifts fundraising to help design, develop, and implement a new program.


Ongoing responsibilities of this position include:


  • Coordinate the major gifts program and communications between prospects and the Foundation.

  • Lead major gift prospect identification, qualification, and rating to develop, assess and expand the donor prospect pool.

  • Select major gift prospects for cultivation.

  • Design and implement creative strategies for building individual philanthropic support, including multi-year gift and annual opportunities.

  • Build relationships with and solicit donations from major donor prospects.

  • Design an effective major gift donor stewardship program.


The Major Gifts Manager is a new role for the Foundation, we’re seeking a professional with at least three to five years of experience in major gifts fundraising and:


  • Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.

  • Program Development experience required.

  • Major gift fundraising experience with a non-profit healthcare association preferred.

  • Experience using donor database software.

  • Proven ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individuals.

  • Superior written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, email, and PowerPoint.

  • Interpersonal skills, professionalism, and demeanor to foster trust and confidence in potential donors.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary.

  • Excellent organization skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.

It’s a busy time for the Foundation! In addition to constantly working toward our strategic goals, we’ll be moving to our new offices at Two Prudential Plaza early next year!
