Position Title: Development Associate, Brooklyn College Foundation Reports to: Managing Director, Campaign and Leadership Gifts Scope of Work: Working closely with members of the Brooklyn College Foundation’s Leadership Gifts Team, assisting in all administrative processes related to soliciting, processing, and stewarding gifts; planning events; managing donors and prospects; and maintaining the smooth functioning of the department. As a key member of the department, the Development Associate contributes broadly to the successful engagement of individual donors. Responsibilities:
Support the work of the Brooklyn College Foundation’s Leadership Gifts team.
Assist with a range of activities related to the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors in support Brooklyn College’s fundraising priorities.
Participate in the management of donor and prospect meetings, including scheduling, preparation of relevant meeting materials, coordination among fundraising team members, and tracking next steps and follow-up actions
Draft briefing documents, letters, proposals, and reports to prospects and donors under the supervision of the BCF fundraising team.
Manage updates and regular report and constituent list generation from Raiser’s Edge and other relevant databases.
Participate in meetings with various campus constituencies and external volunteers in support of BCF fundraising.
Update donor files electronically and in hard copies.
Assist in organizing and staffing donor cultivation and stewardship events, and preparing relevant briefing materials.
Provide assistance with general office administration, including answering phones; responding to general email inquiries; greeting guests; managing mailings, website updates, and internal communications; scheduling and supporting internal meetings; and assisting with gift processing responsibilities.
Perform other duties, as needed.
Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of related work experience.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases; prior experience with Raiser’s Edge.
Committed team player with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands and projects under deadline.
Sound judgment and discretion.
